    WRITER

    WOLF (short) - Written and created by Laura McGrady, directed by The Blaine Brothers, produced by Barry Castagnola and starring Alexa Davies and Terique Jarrett.


    WOLF had a succesful festival run showing festivals all over the world including: BFI Flare (London), Indy Shorts (Indianapolis), Fastnet Film Fest (Ireland), PinX Festival (Belgium) and many many more. During it’s festival run Wolf was nominated for several awards, winning the Through A Different Lens Audience choice award.

  • STAND BY FOR FURTHER DESTRUCTION

    This as of yet unproduced feature film started life as a play before being adapted into a screenplay.

    In it’s different forms it has been longlisted for a number of awards including: ThePaines Plough Female Playwright Prize, The Originals Playwrights Award and TheBread & Roses Prize.

    The People Outside is a fictional podcast written and created by Laura McGrady and William Drew.

    Original songs written and performed by Charles Craggs 

    The People Outside ran for two seasons with funding from Arts Council England and was nominated for an Audio Verse Award.

    Baby Box returned to the York Theatre Royal following a sell-out run at The Kings Head in London the year before.

    Written and Created by Laura McGrady, starring Laura McGrady and Sarah Cullum and directed by Helena Jackson.

  • billie billy lee leigh

    CO-CREATOR & WRITER

    Billie Billy Lee Leigh is a two act comedy play co-written and created by Laura McGrady and Mark Daniels.

    This gender swapping farce follows couple Billie/Billy and Lee/Leigh as we see them overcome a social hiccup over an evening, swapping in and out exploring how gender and sexuality might change their perspectives on things.

    The play had a rehearsed reading with The Space Arts Centre in London.

  • Camp in-between

    CO-WRITER & PERFORMER

    Camp In-Between is a new musical with Book and Lyrics by Laura McGrady and Music by Meg McGrady.

    Two songs from the show were screened as part of Signal Online, a digital musical theatre project curated and hosted by London musical theatre director Adam Lenson.

  • Quaranqueen (song)

    CO-WRITER

    Written, recorded and screened during lockdown, On Hope: a Digital Song Cycle was presented digitally by London’s The Other Palace.

    Sung by Sophie Isaacs (Heathers, Six) and written by the McGrady Siblings (Laura and Meg McGrady) Quaranqueen was first streamed live on The Other Palace’s YouTube channel on Wednesday 29 April 2020.

  • SLACKLINE STORIES

    WRITER

    Laura’s original short play Sharp Corners featured as part of Slackline Production’s night of plays at The Southwark Playhouse in London.

    Slackline Stories is a 24-hour challenge in which writers and actors meet at 7.30pm on the first night, discuss themes and stories together. Writers then leave the meeting with the task to deliver a compete script for their cast to be performed at 7.30pm the next night.

    Laura’s play won the Audience Choice Award on the night.

  • Rapid write response - tigers

    WRITER

    The short play Tigers was staged as part of Rapid Write Response at Theatre 503 in London.

    The short was staged for a two night run as a response piece to the play The Amber Trap.

  • SHOEFITI

    PERFORMER

    Laura Performed in this 3 person full legth play at HUB67 in London
    Shoefiti is comedy play set in Newcastle written by Bethan Kitchen and produced by Brash Theatre.

  • TANKED

    WRITER

    This short play was staged at Katzpace in London as part of a shorts night. The play would go on to be developed into Laura’s feature film script Stand By For Further Destruction.

    PERFORMER

    Written and created by film maker Jack Shanks. Jack’s series of short films titled Mini-Nightmares explore horror in all many different forms.
    Laura starred in the short Close Encounters.

  • The Pensive Federation

    Laura’s short play Shoulder ran for a week at The Vaults Theatre as part of the Pensive Federation’s Significant Other Festival.

    Laura joined Storystock as a performer for The Wilderness Festival as part of an immersive performance that took place around the grounds of the festival.
