Born and raised in Newcastle, Laura is now a London-based writer/performer. Comedy is at the heart of everything she does and her work aims to lower your guard with laughs before hitting you with a big feely gut punch.
Laura trained in acting at The Oxford School of Drama before completing her Masters in Writing for Stage and Broadcast Media at The Royal Central School for Speech and Drama.
She is a Bafta Connect member and a member of the WGGB.
She wrote and created the short film Wolf which was directed by The Blaine Brothers and starred Alexa Davies. Wolf had a successful festival run having been nominated for several awards and winning the Through A Different Lens Audience choice award.
She co-created and wrote the podcast series The People Outside which ran for 2 seasons.
Her debut play Baby Box ran at The York Theatre Royal following a successful run at The Kings Head in London.
She has been nominated and shortlisted for a number of writing awards and has an original series currently in the early stages of development.
She has two original series and a feature film ready to be pitched and plenty of other ideas in the works.
