BBC COMEDY FESTIVAL - LIVERPOOL

It was once again time for comedy producers, performers, writers, stand-ups and enthusiasts to descend upon a city to gain insight and inspiration from the BBC.

I attended talks with the top commissioners at the BBC, Channel 4, ITV and Sky. I heard Diane Morgan in conversation about her career and got to see a sneak preview of the pilot for her new show (it's very good.) And I got weirdly teary listening to Ruth Jones and James Cordon talk about creating Gavin and Stacey.

It was a fantastic weekend for meeting other writers and comedians, catching up with those I knew and meeting a whole load of new faces throughout the two days.

Now, fresh from my inspiration and motivation top-up, I'm ready and raring to keep writing funny stuff and putting in the graft to try and get some laughs.
